Young Inventors initiative operates within our "Research & Education" pillar and includes programs focused on unlocking the raw talent of young minds everywhere.
Through our Young Inventors program, Inventions For Good is investing in the next generation of problem-solvers, equipping them with the tools, mentorship, and mindset to build a better future. In Greensboro, North Carolina, we are proudly turning this vision into reality by sponsoring five competitive robotics teams in partnership with ECG Robotics.
The Partnership: ECG Robotics & FIRST
ECG Robotics is a student-led nonprofit that welcomes youth from across Guilford County to dive headfirst into world-class competitive robotics. By fueling these teams, we give students a direct pathway into two of the most prestigious STEM ecosystems in the world:
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC): Where students design, build, and program robots to compete in an alliance-based format, learning the fundamentals of engineering design and rapid prototyping.
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC): The "Varsity Sport for the Mind," where teams work under strict rules and limited resources to build industrial-sized robots to play a sophisticated field game.
By stepping out of textbook theory and into hands-on engineering, our Young Inventors build a multi-dimensional toolkit for the future
Technical Mastery
Students gain immersive, real-world experience across the core pillars of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from CAD modeling and mechanical fabrication to advanced software development.
Durable Skills
Building a complex machine under a deadline requires more than technical know-how. All students develop vital life skills in teamwork, strategic leadership, and adaptive problem-solving.
Community Ecosystems
The impact radiates far beyond the playing field. These programs actively strengthen our local community, creating a vibrant network that connects students, professional mentors, and families around shared creativity, curiosity, and learning.
"Robotics gives young people confidence, opportunity, and a pathway to future careers in technology and innovation. We aren't just teaching kids how to build machines; we are showing them that they are capable of inventing solutions to the toughest challenges."
Fuel the Future of Innovation
Our Young Inventors are proving that when you give youth the right resources, they don't just learn - they invent! You can help us expand our reach, fund critical engineering components, and sponsor more student teams.
